  • Early Diagnosis & Management of Periodontal Disease; With special custom-made Periopack home care kits as well as regular 3, 6 and 12 monthly recall visits and referral to a nearby associated Periodontal specialist for the more complicated cases.
  • Orthodontic care; we work closely with a nearby specialist orthodontist for patients of all ages that require Invisalign and conventional braces.
Restorative Dentistry / CAD CAM options
At Avalon Dental Kalamunda we endeavour to adhere to minimal intervention dentistry to achieve conservative restoration of your teeth. Minimising unnecessary removal of teeth through new techniques will reduce the need for earlier progression to more complicated and costly restorative options as well as minimising pain and discomfort and keeping your teeth more aesthetically pleasing.

Our in-house chair-side Milling Unit allows for quick turnaround or even the same-day medium-sized ageing restoration replacement with stronger/ more aesthetic ceramic restorations, eliminating the need for unnecessary early progression to full coverage crowns. Our 3D imaging camera eliminates the need for taking impressions in certain cases
Extractions / Wisdom teeth

There are certain situations where teeth are no longer suitable for restoration either they are too broken down or infected. At Avalon, extractions are done on a regular basis and are generally provided in minimal time, expense and discomfort to you.

We also do extractions under ‘Happy Gas’ administration or prescription medication in certain cases to reduce anxiety during the procedure. In more complicated situations we work closely with a specialist for prompt removal under intravenous sedation or general anaesthetic.

Cosmetic / Aesthetic treatments

Many of us not only want our teeth to be pain-free and functional but also to look great as well. Our services include:

  • Inexpensive home care bleaching kits with Australia Dental Association-approved bleaching gels.
  • Composite Resin Bonding and Direct laminate veneers in cases where minimal intervention is required to achieve an excellent aesthetic result.
  • Porcelain Ceramic Veneers is a more complex situation where a higher aesthetic result is a must.
  • After a consultation appointment with us, we can discuss in detail which option is best for your requirements.
Crown, Bridge and Implant Treatment

There are certain situations such as extensive tooth decay, trauma (to the tooth), excessively large fillings, previous root canal treatment, age-related wear and tear and missing teeth that require more involved restorative options.

These include:

  • Crowns – which are restorations that completely encircle or ‘cap’ teeth. This allows for the load to be spread more evenly over the remaining tooth surface, reducing the possibility of fracture and increasing the life span of the tooth as well as improving aesthetics. Material options include all ceramic, and porcelain fused to metal and gold depending on your functional and aesthetic needs.
  • Bridges – These are essentially one or more crowns constructed together to replace one or more missing teeth. Bridges are regular effective treatment options in situations where Implants are not suitable.
  • Dental Implants – are basically artificial tooth roots made of titanium that are inserted into the jaw bone to replace missing teeth. They can be used as a single tooth replacement option with a crown, multiple teeth with a bridge or to stabilise a removable denture. Implants are generally quite successful long-lasting and can be tailored to an individual’s needs. At Avalon, we closely liaise with specialists to ensure successful treatment outcomes.
Dentures

There are situations where bridges and implants are just not an option. Either due to lack of teeth, likelihood of further tooth loss, lack of bone or prohibitive cost. Dentures are a cost-effective way to replace multiple teeth and can still be very functional and aesthetic.

Options include:

  • Conventional full upper or lower dentures for people with no teeth what so ever.
  • Partial dentures for people with one or more missing teeth. These can be made in both acrylic (plastic) base or metal (chrome) based depending on your requirements.
  • Immediate dentures are where teeth must be extracted, but for aesthetic reasons, people don’t want to be without teeth for an extended period of time.

Our close experienced laboratory technician is available for a quick turnaround with limited inconvenience to you.

Root Canal Treatments

Unfortunately, some of us will experience aching or infected teeth in our lifetime. This is due to damage to the tooth canal by decay, disease, failed restorations or injury.

Endodontic treatment in a lot of cases allows for the tooth to be saved from extraction and, in conjunction with crowns significantly increases its life span.

At Avalon, our use of rotary endodontic instruments allows for easier, faster and more effective treatment. We also work closely with specialist Endodontists in more complex cases to achieve successful results.
